“The 2021-22 State Budget is an extremely disappointing one for the Shepparton region, with new infrastructure and service delivery projects ignored and established projects suffering completion time blowouts.
“The Andrews Labor Government has snubbed the Shepparton community by ignoring vital projects put forward by the Greater Shepparton City Council in its budget submission, with just one of the ten vital funding requests receiving funding in today’s budget.
“It is inexcusable that the State Government has again failed to commit money to start construction of the Shepparton Bypass or fund the delivery of an Early Parenting Centre, a service so badly needed by new parents and families in the region.
“I am extremely disappointed that Shepparton is not one of the seven regions that will share in the $47 million Homelessness Rough Sleeping Action Plan announced in the State Budget. Shepparton has the highest rate of homelessness in regional Victoria yet has been overlooked for funding to help tackle this important issue.
“In a big spending budget, the needs of the Shepparton electorate have once again been ignored by the Andrews Labor Government.”
